BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A handful of additional dispensaries have gotten state approval to operate once marijuana becomes legal for recreational use in the New Year.
Among the dispensaries getting the go-ahead from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation last week was PDI Medical Dispensary, 1623 Barclay Boulevard in Buffalo Grove.
The approval came days before an early Tuesday vote by the Buffalo Grove Village Board to allow recreational sales in town once it becomes legal on Jan. I. PDI Medical Dispensary has been dispensing marijuana for medical purposes since 2018.
A dispensary with an early approval adult use dispensing organization license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation may not have local authority to make adult use cannabis sales to purchasers or may be prohibited from selling to adult use purchasers by other laws or regulations, according to the IDFPR.
