HOUSTON, TX – Two men who police said used cloned credit cards and gift cards to steal hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel were arrested outside of a southeast Houston filling station Monday night. The theft was reported at about 11:15 p.m. on East Orem Drive near Hobby Airport.

Undercover officers with the Houston Police were called to the gas station and saw two men filling several tanks with diesel fuel, including two larger tanks hidden in the back of the truck connected to the two main fuel tanks.

Police said the men used gift cards and credit cards reprogrammed with stolen credit card numbers. Undercover officers confronted the men while they were still fueling and took both of them into custody, police said.

Police said the two men could be linked to other fuel thefts in the area. Charges against the two men are pending. The case remains under investigation.
